Try your hand at recreating the classic 1920s cocktail, the Sidecar.

  1. Put two coupe glasses in the fridge to chill.
  2. Ingredients:
  3. 50ml De Kaapse Brandewijn Kompanjie.
  4. 25ml Cointreau.
  5. 25ml freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  6. Garnish: orange twist.
  7. A handful of ice.
  8. Coat the rim of the coupe glass with sugar.
  9. Add the Brandewijn, Cointreau, lemon juice and ice to a shaker.
  10. Shake until well chilled.
  11. Strain into the prepared glasses.
  12. Garnish with an orange twist.
